Web Site: At the beginning of the fight...
Marcia Brunner was initially diagnosed with leukemia in 1996. At that time, she underwent chemotherapy, which was successful in moving her into remission. She then had her own stem cells harvested and stored as a precaution. In 2003, those stem cells were used in an autologous transplant after Marcia relapsed. There was a small chance Marcia's harvested cells could contain some undetectable leukemia, but it was her best hope at the time.

News Column: Reach the Reader
So you've sold a book. Great! Now what do you do? Well, you can sit back and hope your publisher's marketing team is prepared to rocket your book to the top of the bestseller list. You can hope they've earmarked a truck load of money to put your book on all the end caps in the biggest bookstores. And you can hope they send you on a whirlwind nationwide book signing tour (all expenses paid, of course) to put your smiling face in front of the masses. Will that happen? Probably not.

Book Review: POLITICAL SUICIDE by Alan Russell
Russell's latest book, POLITICAL SUICIDE, offers up equal doses of action and intrigue. Will Travis is a guy with the quirky job of hotel auditor. But free meals and swanky bars soon give way to tainted drinks, car chases and murder. When Travis sees a woman on the brink of danger, he pushes his regular job aside and puts himself into the fray. But the intended victim turns out to be Claire Harrington, the headstrong daughter of a former U.S. senator, and she isn't very good at playing the role of damsel in distress. Though outwardly elegant and gracious, Travis soon learns Claire has nerves of steel and a passion to achieve her goals that overrides everything else.
